§ 19B-1. Purpose.

The purpose of this chapter is to:

(a)

Protect and enhance public health through the establishment of sound technical and regulatory requirements governing the application of recycled water ponds used solely for the purpose of holding recycled water as described herein.

(b)

Provide a safe alternative for the management of recycled water for parcels where leachfields cannot function on a year-round basis due to site constraints.

(c)

Assure the ongoing and adequate operation, maintenance, and monitoring of sewage systems utilizing recycled water ponds.

(d)

Promote the use of sustainable wastewater collection, treatment, and dispersal systems that utilize recycled water.
