§ 23-9. Penalty for violation of article.

  • Any person, firm, corporation or association of individuals who knowingly grows, maintains or propagates any fruit or nut trees or other host plant infected with any such serious virus disease for a period of more than seven (7) days after written notification of such infection by the county agricultural commissioner shall be guilty of a misdemeanor, and upon conviction, shall be punished by confinement in the county jail for a period not to exceed six (6) months or by a fine not to exceed five hundred dollars ($500.00), or by both such fine and imprisonment.
