§ 2-6. Disposition of unpaid warrants.
Any warrant which has been canceled by reason of not being presented to the Butte County Treasurer for payment within six (6) months of issuance and has not been presented to the Butte County Auditor/Controller for payment within two (2) years and six (6) months of its date of issue, may be presented to the Butte County Board of Supervisors by the payee or signee within three (3) years of the date of issue. The board may adopt an order instructing the Butte County Auditor/Controller to draw a new warrant in favor of the payee or signee in the same amount as the original warrant if the board determines that it would be inequitable or unreasonable, under the facts of the individual case, not to do so, and that money is available in the county treasury to pay the warrant. Any warrant which is issued pursuant to this section shall be subject to the same limitations as the original warrant which it replaces.
