§ 32-5. Petition required to name private road.

Latest version.
  • A private road may be officially named upon petition to the address coordinator in the form of a map showing the location, alignment, five (5) proposed road names and signatures of sixty (60) percent of the property owners whose property is serviced by the private road proposed to be affected.

These names will be studied to assure they do not duplicate or sound like any existing road names in the county. If one of these road names does not conflict with any existing road names, this name will be recommended to the board of supervisors in the form of a resolution of intention. Upon approval by the board of supervisors, thereafter such road shall be officially known by the name so designated.
