§ 10-21.1. Seasonal closure of portion of Humboldt Road in the Jonesville Area.

  • (a)

    Closure. Humboldt Road, beginning at a point approximately one hundred (100) feet northeasterly of the entrance to the Jonesville Snowmobile Staging Area and continuing northeasterly three and nine-tenths (3.9) miles to the Butte County and Plumas County line, shall be closed seasonally to motor vehicles which are subject to registration pursuant to Division 3 (commencing with section 4000) of the California Vehicle Code. The period of closure shall be from January 2 through March 15 of each year. Provided, however, that the commencement and the end of the period of closure shall be modified by the director of public works so that closure will not commence until safe access by such motor vehicles is not feasible due to snow conditions and will not end until safe access by such motor vehicles is feasible.

    (b)

    Signs and barricades. The public works director or designee shall erect suitable barriers or obstructions upon the road and shall post signs, as appropriate to advise the traveling public of the closure.

    (c)

    Snowmobiles exempt. Snowmobiles issued a plate or device pursuant to section 38160 of the Vehicle Code may be operated or driven on the road during the period of closure.
